Chester Bennington- The Lead Linkin Park Singer

Chester Charles Bennington is a well-known vocalist and front man of American rock band Linkin Park. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on 20th March, 1976.

Chester Bennington attended Centennial High School, Greenway High School, and later graduated from Washington High School. Bennington said that while he was in high school he was bullied and he described himself as a geek.

The first musical instrument Bennington got his hands on was a piano. Over the years he worked with various bands and played different kinds of instruments, yet he was more pronounced as a vocalist. It was through his brother that Bennington got introduced to bands like Foreigner, Loverboy, and Rush and also with Stone Temple Pilots and The Doors, which inspired him for future in music.

Till 1993, when he joined Grey Daze, he couldn't settle with a full swing band. He continued with the band till 1998, during which he recorded two albums "Wake Me" in 1994 and "...No Sun Today" in 1997 apart from a demo tape "Sean Dowdell and his Friends?". However, in 1998 the band dismantled and Bennington made his way to Linkin Park a year later.

Bits and pieces of his Personal life

During his days at Grey Daze Bennington met his first wife Samantha and married her in 1996, then he was 20. He was not in a position to afford wedding or even engagement rings. They had a child, a boy named Draven Sebastian. However, the marriage didn't last and the couple divorced nine years later.

Bennington married his girl friend Talinda Bentley, on December 31, 2005. Talinda and Bennington have a son named Tyler Lee.

His days with Linkin Park

Bennington's stint with Linkin Park (then known as Xero) began when they were searching a vocalist to sign. The band was impressed by his vocal display in auditions. Bennington settled as the lead singer in the group and the band transformed from Xero to Hybrid Theory. They then recorded the Hybrid Theory EP, which included songs like "Step Up", "Carousel", "And One", "High Voltage" and "Part Of Me".
