Dave "Phoenix" Farrell – Linkin Park's remarkable bassist
David Michael Farrell more popular as Dave “phoenix” Farrell a spectacular bassist for Linkin Park was born on February 8, 1977. Born in Plymouth, Massachusetts Farrell had to move to Mission Viejo, California at the age of five.
His concise biography
In 1999 Dave Farrell graduated from University of California, Los Angeles. His expertise was in playing bass guitar, electric guitar, cello and violin. He also became a member of a Christian band named “Tasty Snax.” In some concerts, Farrell was lauded for his brilliant performance with upright bass.
During his college days, Farrell rehearsed along with Brad Delson in a dorm room. Nevertheless, due to his engagements with Tasty Snax, he never had a chance to play with Delson and his band that would turn to be Linkin Park soon. Further Tasty Snax was renamed as Snax and Farrell started playing bass guitar for the band. Eventually he left the band to be a regular bass player with Linkin Park.
One of Dave's compeers in Snax, Mark Fiore joined Linkin Park as a videographer. In the fillings for Reanimation he has been described as using an Ernie Ball Musicman Bass. Square to his nickname 'Phoenix' he bears two phoenix tattoos on his back.
Dave “phoenix” Farrell credits his venture into music to his mother and brother, Joe apart from The Beatles, The Roots, Bob Marley, Weezer, the Deftones, Sarah McLachlan, Harrod & Funck and Hughes & Wagner.
