Joe Hahn – A Perfect DJ With Linkin Park

Joe Hahn alias Mr. Hahn DJ of America’s nu-metal rapcore band Linkin Park was born in Dallas, Texas as Joseph Hahn (15 March, 1977). He is a second-generation Korean American brought up in Glendale California.

Early life

Hahn went to Hoover High School. Subsequently after graduating, Hahn took up a course in visual arts in Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. This is where he had Mike Shinoda his would-be Linkin Park bandmate as an associate. Though Hahn had a deep inclination towards illustration, he decided to opt for a career in special effects in film and television shows such as Sphere, Dune and The X-Files.

Finally he found his calling in Linkin Park (known as Xero then), where he joined in 1996 as the band's DJ. Then onwards, he started directing the music videos of most singles for the band including the unforgettable “What I've Done”, leaving aside "Crawling", "One Step Closer" and "Faint".

His achievements

Joe Hahn has given direction to some of the remarkable videos for Alkaline Trio, Static-X, Story of the Year, X-ecutioners and Xzibit. Music apart Hahn takes keen interest in short films. He also featured in a minor role in Little Pony a short film by Filip Engström.

For most of the 2006 Hahn was busy doing his side projects as the other members of Linkin Park. Till recently, he made news for his mini-film called “The Seed in Los Angeles, California” which was premiered at the Pusan International Film Festival.

Joe Hahn's raw sense of humor and mordacious wit is what makes him favorite in interviews. Often he is heard gagging that he has an alter-ego Remy who 'can be heard' at the starting of song "Cure for the Itch".
